Is There Someone You Want Him To Draw?

I know that many of the listeners to this are already in Christ Jesus and are partakers of what the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 3:8 called “the boundless riches of Christ,” and “the unsearchable riches of Christ.”

And, of course, it is impossible for anyone who truly appreciates the nature and extent of these riches not to give thanks to God over and over again for the privilege of being in Christ.

Shall we name a few?

  1. The one who is in Christ has become the adopted child of God and can relate with God the way a child would relate with a loving earthly father. Romans 8, from verse 14-16: For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[f] And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
  2. The Christian is not burdened by the guilt of sin and has been spared from the punishment for sin. On Calvary, the \Saviour said “It is finished”, and from that moment, all who are in Christ can no longer be tormented by Satan for their sin.
  3. The Christian has unfettered access to God’s throne of mercy. In time if need, Hebrews 4:16 says the Christian can boldly go to the God’s throne and receive mercy and help; and
  4. The Christian has an advocate in heaven; God’s only beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ is the one praying for every Christian and making intercession for us. Heb. 7:25.

Now, we have named only few of the manifestations of our boundless riches in Christ. But even those are enough to make us feel exceptionally privileged and blessed indeed.

But here’s the question: Are there not friends, relatives, and acquaintances we know and love who are not yet sharing in these riches? You know how, when you have abundance of food and money, your thought goes out to those who may not have? In the same way, this hymnwriter’s heart goes out to those friends of his who are yet to know the Saviour.

I have a Savior, He’s pleading in glory,
A dear, loving Savior, though earth friends be few;
And now He is watching in tenderness o’er me,
And, oh, that my Savior were your Savior, too.

For you I am praying,
For you I am praying,
For you I am praying,
I’m praying for you.
 – Samuel O’Malley Cluff.

So, dear people of God, who is on your salvation prayer list? In Mark 5:19, our Lord said to a man who had just experienced deliverance: “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” Let’s not keep these riches to ourselves. Let’s be burdened for our friends, relatives, and acquaintances who are yet to come to the knowledge of the saving grace of our saviour.

When Jesus has found you, tell others the story,
That my loving Savior is your Savior, too;
Then pray that your Savior may bring them to glory,
And prayer will be answered– ’twas answered for you!

For you I am praying,
For you I am praying,
For you I am praying,
I’m praying for you.
 – Samuel O’Malley Cluff.

Let us pray.

Dear Father, we thank you for the boundless riches in Christ of which you have made us partakers. And now, we remember friends, relatives, and acquaintances who have not come to the knowledge  of the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please burden our hearts to ceaselessly intercede on their behalf until, by your great mercies, You draw them to Yourself and make them partakers of the boundless riches of Christ. We ask in faith and in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
