Today, the word under the spotlight is “Sufficiency.”

Sufficiency refers to having enough—being fully supplied without lack.
In simple terms, it means God provides all that is truly needed for life, faith, and obedience.

Scripture anchors this truth firmly in God’s grace. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 3:5, “Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God.” And again in 2 Corinthians 12:9, the Lord says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Sufficiency does not deny weakness; it declares that God meets us in it.

Sufficiency reshapes how we view lack and desire. It teaches us that contentment is not found in having more, but in trusting the One who gives. When we rest in God’s sufficiency, comparison loosens its grip, anxiety quiets down, and gratitude grows. We learn to say with Paul, “I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content” (Philippians 4:11).

This word invites us to stop striving for self-sufficiency and to embrace God-dependence—the only place where true peace is found.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You that You are enough for me. Teach me to rely on Your sufficiency, to trust Your provision, and to rest in Your grace in every season. Amen.

Now, let’s put this word into action. Can you make a Christian-themed sentence using sufficiency?
Here’s mine: “God’s sufficiency frees me from striving and teaches my heart to be content.”

Now it’s your turn — share your sentence in the comments.

Thank you for listening. I’m Dewunmi Afolabi-Ajani for GospelBells Radio.
