Welcome to Word of the Day on GospelBells Radio. Today, the word under the spotlight is “Seeking.”
Seeking refers to the intentional pursuit of God with desire, attention, and perseverance.
In simple terms, it means turning your heart toward God and actively longing to know Him, trust Him, and walk in His ways.
Scripture consistently links seeking with promise. Jeremiah 29:13 declares, “You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart.” Jesus echoes this invitation in Matthew 7:7: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find.” Seeking is not casual curiosity; it is earnest devotion — a heart that refuses to be satisfied with substitutes.
Seeking reminds us that faith is relational, not mechanical. God is not hiding from His people, yet He invites us into pursuit so that our love may deepen and our dependence grow. To seek God is to orient our priorities toward Him — in prayer, in Scripture, and in obedience — trusting that He rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).
This word is especially important in seasons of uncertainty or new beginnings. When direction feels unclear, Scripture does not first say “decide” or “achieve,” but seek. Those who seek God are never left without guidance, presence, or grace.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to seek You with my whole heart. Remove distractions that dull my desire, and draw me closer to You day by day. Amen.
Now, let’s put this word into action. Can you make a Christian-themed sentence using seeking?
Here’s mine: “Seeking God daily aligns my heart with His will and fills my life with purpose.”
Now it’s your turn — share your sentence in the comments.
Thank you for listening.
