Welcome to Word of the Day on GospelBells Radio. Today, the word under the spotlight is “Pneumatology.”
(Continue reading or listen as presented on the radio by Dewunmi Afolabi-Ajani)
Pneumatology means the study of the Holy Spirit and His work. In simple terms, it’s learning who the Holy Spirit is, what He does, and how He continues Christ’s presence and power in the life of believers.
While theology teaches us about God the Father, and Christology reveals the Son, pneumatology opens our hearts to the quiet, yet mighty, work of the Spirit — the Comforter Jesus promised in John 14:26.
He is not a mere force or influence; He is God Himself dwelling in us, convicting of sin, guiding into truth, and empowering for holy living. Theologian A.W. Tozer once wrote, “The Spirit-filled life is not a special, deluxe edition of Christianity. It is part and parcel of the total plan of God for His people.” Without the Spirit, knowledge grows cold, worship becomes routine, and service loses power. But with the Spirit, faith becomes alive, love abounds, and Christ is made real in our hearts.

Now it’s your turn — share your sentence in the comments on our GospelBells Radio website or X page. We’ll be looking out for it!Thank you for listening.
