Welcome to Word of the Day on GospelBells Radio. Today, the word under the spotlight is “Adoption.”

Adoption refers to God’s gracious act of taking believers into His family as His beloved children.
In simple terms, it means God doesn’t just forgive us — He welcomes us, names us, and gives us a place in His household forever.
Paul captures this stunning truth in Ephesians 1:5, where he writes that God “predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ.” And in Romans 8:15, he adds that through the Spirit we cry, “Abba, Father!” Adoption means intimacy, identity, and inheritance — privileges we did not earn, yet freely receive because of Christ.
Before adoption, we were strangers and rebels. After adoption, we are sons and daughters. Before adoption, we stood in guilt; after adoption, we stand in grace. Adoption turns orphans into heirs — heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). It is not a metaphor of pity but of privilege: the Father brings us into the joy, security, and love that the Son has eternally enjoyed.
And here is the comfort: God never un-adopts His children. His welcome is permanent. His affection is steadfast. His table always has a seat with your name on it.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the wonder of adoption — for calling me Your child and giving me a place in Your family. Help me live each day with the confidence, humility, and joy of one who is truly loved by the Father. Amen.
Now, let’s put this word into action. Can you make a Christian-themed sentence using the word adoption? Here’s mine:
“Christian adoption means the Father loves me with the same love He has for His Son.”
Now it’s your turn — share your sentence in the comments on our GospelBells Radio website or X page. We’ll be looking out for it!
