WHEN YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO
Waiting may sound easy, but it is one of the hardest lessons a Christian learns—and it often takes years of training. Marching forward or rushing into action comes more naturally to God’s soldiers than simply standing still.
There are moments of deep confusion when even the most willing servant of God does not know what to do. What should we do then? Give in to despair? Retreat in fear? Turn aside in panic? Or charge ahead recklessly? No. The answer is to wait.
Wait in prayer. Bring the matter before God; lay out your struggle at His feet, and remind Him of His promises to help you. When torn between two choices, it is a blessing to wait humbly like a child, trusting God’s guidance with a simple and sincere heart. It always goes well with us when we recognize our own weakness and are genuinely willing to be led by His will.
But wait also in faith. To wait while doubting is not really waiting—it is an insult to God. Trust Him. Even if He seems to delay until midnight, He will come at the right moment. The vision will not fail; it will arrive right on time.

Subscribe NowWait with quiet patience. Do not complain because of the trial, but thank God for it. Do not grumble against people or circumstances, as Israel did against Moses. Do not long to return to the world. Instead, accept your situation as it is and place it completely—without stubbornness—into the hands of your faithful God. Say, “Lord, not my will, but Yours be done. I do not know what to do. I am at my limit, but I will wait for You to part the waters or turn back my enemies. However long You ask me to wait, I will wait—because my heart is fixed on You. I am fully convinced that You will be my joy, my salvation, my refuge, and my strong tower.”
