ON LIGHT LANGUAGE AND MYSTICISM
Good morning once again. It is Monday the 18th of May 2026, and we are on the Lord’s side. I want to begin this morning by sharing something I hope you have not heard about and certainly do not practice. It is called “light language.”
Last week I came across a video posted on X by someone in the United States. In it, a lady who presents herself as a mystic claims she can teach people how to speak “light language.” She openly admits there is no difference between light language and the charismatic tongues popularized in many churches. She says, “In advanced light language, I definitely go into interpretation. But when you’re first learning, do not worry about it. Just let it flow.”
This is the same instruction one often hears from certain charismatic pastors: “Don’t bother about what it means. Just let it flow.” The woman is not a Christian. She does not claim to be one. She is a mystic who left traditional Christianity during what she calls her “spiritual awakening.” She equates speaking in tongues with light language — any soul-centered communication from the heart that connects one with “God or source,” without being limited by traditional languages.
Christians must be clear: this is not innocent. Second Corinthians 11 warns us that Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. Mystics speak of connecting with a “divine essence” that is deliberately presented as something other than the God revealed in Scripture and apart from the Lord Jesus Christ. We are commanded in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ. Colossians 2:8 warns us not to be taken captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy.
If it does not point to Christ, if it does not come from Christ, if it does not glorify Christ, then it is not of God. No matter how beautiful it sounds, no matter what “peace” or “spiritual rejuvenation” people claim to experience, we must reject it. The fact that something appears to work does not mean it is from God. We have been warned repeatedly in Scripture against consulting mediums, spiritists, and those who traffic in secret knowledge. First John 4 commands us to test every spirit and tells us that every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus Christ is the spirit of the antichrist.
These well-dressed, confident mystics on social media are targeting people who are disillusioned with institutional Christianity. They say, “You don’t need the church. You don’t need Christ. Just connect with your spiritual essence.” We must be vigilant. To such offers we must reply plainly: No. We are not buying.
ON THE LOGIC CHURCH AWARD CONTROVERSY
Another matter that has stirred discussion concerns the Logic Church in Lekki, Lagos, and its senior pastor, Pastor Flourish Peters. The church runs a foundational Bible program and awards certificates upon completion. Recently, a lady was named the best graduating student and posted the award on TikTok. There would have been nothing wrong with celebrating academic excellence in Bible study — except for what is visible on the same lady’s social media pages.
Her other videos contain explicit, unrepentant boasting about her sexual activities — content that many have rightly described as practically pornographic. In the award ceremony itself, Pastor Peters, aware of her lifestyle, reportedly told her only to “stop sharing those spicy contents.” He expressed hope that the award would become an “anointing” that would transform her into an ambassador for the gospel.
I agree with the pastor’s stated desire for transformation. Anyone who comes to Christ is no longer condemned, but the Lord also says, “Go and sin no more.” Academic knowledge of the Bible is one thing; genuine spiritual transformation is another. It is possible for a brilliant but unrepentant person to excel in a Bible program without their life being changed. James warns us about those who look in the mirror of God’s Word and walk away unchanged.
The danger lies in platforming and normalizing open rebellion against Christ. When leaders give public recognition and awards to those who continue to revel in sin and even boast about it online, it sends a confusing message to the church and to the watching world. Paul instructs us not to be hasty in laying hands on anyone or giving leadership positions to the immature. Bible programs should ultimately point people toward holiness, not merely intellectual achievement.
We pray for this young lady — that the Word she studied will indeed transform her. But we must also pray for discernment among Christian leaders so that the glory and honor of Christ remain the priority, not virality or crowd-pleasing.
ON REVEREND DAKOMO, CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION, AND THE POWER OF THE SPIRIT
Finally, I want to highlight something encouraging. Reverend Dakomo, a pastor from northern Nigeria, has become a powerful voice against the ongoing genocide of Christians in that region. Without a mega-church or vast wealth, his courageous cry on behalf of the persecuted has now been shared by President Donald Trump himself.
This is a direct rebuke to the prosperity gospel narrative that insists Christians must first be rich before their voice can matter or the gospel can advance. Here is a man with no millions in his account, yet his testimony has reached the most powerful platforms in the world. It confirms what we have always known: the kingdom of God does not come on the wings of wealth or political power, but by the power of the Holy Spirit.
As Isaiah 9 declares concerning the Messiah, “Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end… The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.” It is not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord.
Let this encourage every genuine believer. If God has given you a task, do not wait until you have all the resources before you speak or act. The same God who has used this “poor preacher” from the north can use you. The zeal of the Lord will accomplish His purposes.
God bless you. You have been listening to the On the Lord’s Side podcast on Gospel Bells Radio — engaging the culture with the mind of Christ. Keep listening and invite others. Amen.
