On today’s episode of ReflectionsTuesday, Pastor Ayo Agunloye asked a profound question: Who planted you where you are? That question is at the heart of the all-important matter of fruitfulness and it led us to revisit the story of Aaron’s rod in Numbers 17—a lifeless stick that, when brought before the Lord, budded, blossomed, and bore almonds overnight. It wasn’t hustle; it was placement—before the testimony, in God’s presence.
Here are 4 important points from today’s episode you should not forget (and I hope you listen to the full episode below):
- Planting Matters
If God planted you in that marriage, role, or community, He will also defend and grow you there. If He didn’t, seek His leading to be rightly planted. The first grace for fruitfulness is not striving but surrender: Where has the Lord planted me?
2. Connection Matters n
Aaron was called, chosen, and anointed—yet his rod was dry because he had grown comfortable worshiping from afarinstead of meeting the Lord consistently. Fruitfulness isn’t a title issue; it’s a proximity issue. “Without Me you can do nothing.” The cure is a regular place of meeting with God.
3. Having a “Moses” Matters
Sometimes we’re too tired to carry our own rod to the sanctuary. Pastor Agunloye underscores the gift of accountability and spiritual covering—a discipler who knows how to bring your case before God when your hands hang down. Two are better than one, not as a slogan but as a lifeline.

Subscribe Now4. Covenant Matters
Here is the episode’s overarching point: fruit that lasts comes by covenant. Moses was told to keep Aaron’s blossoming rod before the testimony—not as a one-off encounter but as a kept posture. In New-Covenant language: “I have chosen and ordained you to go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain” (John 15:16). Lasting fruit isn’t seasonal; it abides because we abide—yoked to Jesus, strengthened by grace, held by covenant.
