Dear Christian pilgrim, as surely as morning breaks every new day, all the thoughts and intentions in your heart are laid bare before the Lord God Almighty.
Listen to the words David spoke to his son Solomon in 1 Chronicles 28:9
“As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts.”
Oh, how unwise it is to imagine that any earthly barrier can shield you from the piercing gaze of the Almighty. It is like attempting to hide behind a single finger.
In full realization of this, David declared in psalm 139:1-3
“O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.”
Dear Christian Pilgrim, knowing that the Lord understands all the intent of your thoughts and is acquainted with all your ways, should you not disrobe yourself of all forms of pretense and self-delusion and ensure that there is NOTHING BETWEEN you and your creator?
And, please, do not be tremble in fear at the thought of exposing your flaws and imperfections and sins to His all-seeing eyes. He knows already, and His purpose is not to condemn you, but to redeem you. Allow His refining fire to cleanse your scarlet stains, and transform them into snow-white purity.
Indeed, whether it is sin, or sorrow, or hopelessness, or confusion, or fear, or anger, respectfully lay them before the Lord and when you have placed all your cards on the table, when you go to Him just as you are with NOTHING BETWEEN, you find that He does not hide His goodness from those who seek him with all their hearts.
“Then all is peace and light
This soul within;
Thus shall I walk with Thee,
The loved Unseen;
Leaning on Thee, my God,
Guided along the road,
Nothing between.”
Let us pray,
Dear Lord,
I humbly seek Your guidance to draw closer to You each day. Please engrave in my heart the assurance that those who seek You will never be turned away. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
