Dear Christian pilgrim, God can see through whatever barrier you put in place to hide your ways from Him and He wants you to remove them! In 1 Chron. 28:9a, David said to His son, Solomon:

As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. …

Indeed, you will do well to put away those barriers. It’s like hiding behind one finger when you seek to hide from the Lord.

In Psalm 139, David declared:

O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.

So, you see, God can see through whatever barrier you put in place to hide your ways from Him and He wants you to remove them because He delights in those who consciously walk in His presence, and who open their lives and affairs to Him with NOTHING BETWEEN.

In Gen.17:1B, the Lord said to Abraham: walk before me and be blameless. That is, walk in my presence, walk where I can see you and all of your ways, walk in the manner that a person being watched by a Holy God would walk.

If you think removing the barriers between you and God would make Him see things that you are not proud of; one, remember that He knows already, and, two, be encouraged by the knowledge that His mission in your life is not to condemn you, but to save you; to save you from those very things you don’t want Him to see.

Are the stains in your life as Scarlett or are they as red as crimson? Open your ways to Him with NOTHING BETWEEN, and He will remove the stains and make you like as white as snow, like pure wool.

Are your ways in a terrible state of rudderlessness? Invite Him in with NOTHING BETWEENand you will know the God who replaces ashes with crowns of beauty.

Are you ways marked by sorrow? Open up to Him With NOTHING BETWEEN you and Him, He will step in, to give you the oil of joy and remove your sorrows.

Are your ways marked by hopelessness and looming disasters that you find yourself at your wits’ end? O that you will open your affairs to Him, with nothing between you and Him. He will step in to give you a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.

Dear Pilgrim, if you continue to put barriers between you and God, you will be robbing yourself of the blessing of His desire to save you from sin and adverse circumstances of life.

When there is NOTHING BETWEEN you and God, then you find that:

Then all is peace and light
This soul within;
Thus shall I walk with Thee,
The loved Unseen;
Leaning on Thee, my God,
Guided along the road,
Nothing between.

Let us pray.

May the remembrance of God’s everlasting love for you and His goodly thoughts towards you lead you to resolve to walk in His presence with NOTHING BETWEEN. And as you do so, may you experience His forgiving grace, His healing touch, His loving care, His wise leadership, and His power to save and deliver. In Jesus name. Amen.
