1. Jacob

Jacob’s transformation into Israel points to the new identity Christ gives His people. His dream of the ladder reaching heaven (Genesis 28:12–13) foreshadows Jesus as the true bridge between God and man (John 1:51).

2. Joseph

Betrayed by his brothers, unjustly condemned, yet exalted to save many lives. Joseph reflects Christ’s suffering and glory.
“You meant evil against me; but God meant it for good.” (Genesis 50:20).
Just as Joseph forgave and provided for his brothers, Christ redeems those who once rejected Him.

3. Joshua

Joshua’s Hebrew name Yehoshua is the same root as Yeshua—Jesus. Joshua led Israel into the Promised Land, just as Christ leads believers into eternal rest (Hebrews 4:8–9).

4. Jonah

Jonah spent three days in the belly of the great fish (Jonah 1:17). Jesus Himself said this pointed to His own three days in the tomb before rising again (Matthew 12:40).

5. Job

Job, the righteous sufferer, endured agony not because of sin but to display God’s purposes. His vindication after suffering foreshadows Christ’s resurrection and triumph.
“Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.” (Job 13:15).
