My Never-Failing Treasury

Know the only place where resources don’t run out? Tap play to listen.

Are you worried that your resources are running low or could soon run out? If yes, you may indeed have good reasons to be so worried.

But I do hope that, in your anxious thoughts, you have not forgotten that you have access to God’s store house that has been described as a never-ending treasury filled with boundless gifts of grace.

Dear Name! the Rock on which we build;
  Our shield and hiding-place;
Our never-failing treasury, filled
  With boundless stores of grace.

-from the hymn, How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds by John Newton

Dear pilgrim, reach into this never-failing treasury by faith and in the name of Jesus. It is the treasury of King of kings whose is the earth and all that is in it, the King who controls the hearts and thoughts of the kings of this world like streams of water.

From this never-failing treasury filled with boundless stores of grace, Zacchaeus, the corrupt tax collector, the woman from whom 7 demons were expelled, and the thief on the right of the Cross of Jesus were forgiven their many sins and admitted into the kingdom of God.

From this never-failing treasury filled with boundless stores of grace, a widow neck-deep in debt received the means to pay back the loan with more money left over for her own needs; another widow’s jar of oil did not run dry in the time of famine and her bin of flour did not empty; and 5,000 hungry followers were fed with just 5 loaves and two fish with many leftovers.

Yes, from this never-failing treasury filled with boundless stores of grace, all who were presented to Jesus with diverse diseases in Luke 4 received healing; Peter’s mother-in-law’s fever was rebuked, and Bartimeus who cried out for Jesus received his sight.

And what is more, from this never-failing treasury filled with boundless stores of grace, the Lord has poured our His Holy Spirit on all who would call on the name of Jesus. And, as we read from John 3:34, God gives His Holy Spirit without limit.

Have you fallen into sin? Are you at your wits’ end? Are you held back by sickness and diseases? Are you at a crossroad? Are you afraid? Are you sad? Re you desirous of coming into fellowship with God? Reach into this never-failing treasury of grace by faith and in the name of Jesus. . There is grace upon grace for all who call on the name of Jesus. He will forgive, He will deliver, He will heal, He will lead, He will comfort, He will take away your fears, He will forgive, and He will give His Holy Spirit without measure.

Anytime you reach into this treasury by faith and in the name of Jesus, you will always find more than sufficient for your need.

Just as Jesus stood and shouted on the last and greatest day of the festival recorded in John 7:37, His Spirt calls out in clear voice today: “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!”

And, yes, access to this treasury of grace has been paid for with the blood of Jesus Christ. No wonder the prophet was told to sound the invitation in Is. 55:1: “Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink— even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk— it’s all free!

Dear Name! the Rock on which I build;
  My shield and hiding-place;
My never-failing treasury, filled
  With boundless stores of grace.

Let us pray.

Anytime you can on the name of Jesus, may God’s treasury be opened to you and there may you find boundless grace, more than sufficient grace, and grace upon grace in Jesus name. Amen.
