Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.
Good morning, dear Christian Pilgrim and thank you for tuning in to listen today.
In John chapter1 verse 12, we are reminded of the core mission of our Lord Jesus Christ when He came to earth. It says: “But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.”
That’s you, you know? Having believed Him and accepted Him, you now have the right and power to be called the child of God! And in John 3:16, we read that it is the love of God that made this possible so much so that in 1 John 3:1, the apostle wrote saying, Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God! The New Living Translation says: See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!
See how very much our father loves us. Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us. And This morning, the Holy Spirt calls on you, implores you to TRUST IN HIS LOVE. In Psalm 13:5, the psalmist said:“But I have trusted in your steadfast love, my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.”
Dear Pilgrim, Trust in His love: He who has made you His own child, would He forsake you? Trust in his love: He who has called you His own, would HE cast you away? Trust in his love: He who gave His son up for you, would He let the Devil have the final say on your life?
Trust in His steadfast love: Anytime the guilt of sin overwhelms you, behold, call to mind, remember the manner of love with which He has loved you, He will forgive if you confess and repent.
Trust in His steadfast love: Anytime the burdens and cares of this world or any earthly affliction threaten top consume you, behold, remember, call to mind the manner of love with which He has loved you: He will give you rest and perfect peace if you cast all your cares on Him by faith in the hour of prayer.
Trust in His love: It will never fail.
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!
Let us pray.
Dear Lord, please tune our hearts to always remember and rejoice and take courage in the everlasting love with which you have loved us from before the beginning of the world. In Jesus name, Amen.
